About Me

Erin Dekker (they/them) is a coach, researcher, and PhD candidate. Erin holds an MA in Disability Studies, a post-bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, and a BA in Psychology. In their doctoral studies in Community Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, they aim to advance their research and coaching practices through their commitment to social justice, equity, and community engagement.

Erin works as a coach to empower neurodivergent individuals in employment, education, and across other spheres of life, with a focus on environmental adaptation and self-advocacy. Their collaborative and adaptive approach to working with clients is deeply informed by their personal journey as a neurodivergent person, shaping both perspectives and strategies.

Erin brings years of experience in recruitment, training, policy development, and research, having worked across diverse sectors including media, manufacturing, non-profit, education, retail, and recreation. Since beginning coaching in 2023, Erin has successfully supported over 80 clients in various industries including tech, healthcare, academia, and finance.

With expertise in delivering training across community, educational, and professional settings, Erin merges lived experience with research and practical strategies. They seek to empower neurodivergent individuals to self-advocate while training employers on neurodiversity-affirming practices, including affirming hiring practices and accommodations.

By bridging lived experience research, Erin works to transform institutional systems – particularly in employment and healthcare – through strategies emphasizing environmental adaptation over individual conformity.
